The infrastructure is incredible
The infrastructure is very good with 18 islands all connected with tunnels, sub-sea tunnels and ferries. It is impressive that there are only 50.000 people to pay for it. Although the infrastructure is good today, the Faroese people work on improving it even more. Currently, there is a sub-sea tunnel being drilled between Streymoy and Sandoy. Another one just got finishes between Tórshavn, Strendir and Toftir where there is a roundabout under the sea. This is the only sub-sea tunnel in the world with a roundabout.
Be aware of sheep on the road!
Take care when driving on the highways as it can happen that a sheep or two might walk on the road. Our nation is known for the large amount of sheep compared to the population. There are approximately 100.000 sheep spread out over our 18 beautiful islands, which is twice as much as the population.
